Mervyn Eugene Hammond Jr.

My Uncle Mervyn, is truly my cousin but because of age, we always reffered to him as Uncle Mervyn.  I remembmer being younger hounding my parents and grandmother about not having enough cousins to play with when we got to Kansas, then we met Uncle Mervyn and all the kids and were estatic. Seeing how I had three brothers and and a sister, I was shocked that we found cousins that had more family memebers than us! (LOL) From that point on, there was not a day that our foot touched down in Junction that we wouldn't be over at their house. No matter how many days in a row we had already spent the night, Uncle Mervyn never complained, the answer was always yes, anything they had , we had, and he always smiled! Now that Im older I know he had to be an angel from up above because anyone else would have truly locked the door and pretended not to be home. Uncle Mervyn loved people unconditionally and always made you feel welcomed! His light shines bright throuh all my cousins and my Aunt Rose! When I heard the news I was deeply sadden, but I can rejoice because MY Uncle is Heaven, a place he deserves, a place that GOd has prepared for him ! His work on earth was complete and even though I wish he could still be here, what better gift than to be at Jesus feet! So throuh tears, great memories, and love I will let him soar with the rest of God's heavenly host! In life they're are good people, but Uncle Mervyn was GREAT!  Ill love you forever Uncle!!! TO my cousin's stay stong and keep the faith! I love with all my heart !!!
